Why do my missed calls not say who they’re from when they’re already in my phone book

It’s ok it me being stupid. I get texts fro ID to tell me that I’ve a missed call which obviously won’t know who the number belongs to. My mistake. Sorry

What does it say where it would typically tell you who called?
Is this all numbers who call you or certain one(s)?
Are you sure they aren’t hiding their number?

It sounds like the device isn’t registering that number as a contact, are you sure they’re saved as a contact?
Have you tried deleting the contact and saving it again?

It happens with all my contacts who are all in my contact list. Never had this problem before I changed from Vodafone.
