Does 5G currently work for you? Our Approved List are typically devices we have sold, and I'm not sure the Moto G200 5G was one of them.

Hi, No not on ID mobile. Apparently you haven't approved this Motorola phone. Why is it a defective phone ? What are the dangers in approving it?

The Moto g200 5G works great on 5G on Three (the network you piggyback off of).  I’ve just switched to iD and was confused/upset that my 5G no longer works.  Can this not be enabled for 5G?  You have other similar Motorola phones on your compatibility list, so not sure why this is such a problem?

The conspiracy side of me thinks this kinda proves customers direct with Three are being given a better QoS (Quality of Service) - O2 did this to me with Tesco.

But the other thing is did you port your number from Three to iD and if so is your number showing as correct on the phone? What seems to often happen is our phones retain the provisional iD number allocated to the SIM. This shouldn’t affect 5G though.

All new iD SIMs are 5G ready so this shouldn’t be the issue either. However its not uncommon for their new SIMs to be a little bit finicky. Sometimes getting another SIM can fix issues like this too.

But see if anyone else offers advice.

Yes, my number was ported from Three. The 5G wasn't working before or after (on iD), but I've been using this phone on Three in the same location for a long time and 5G had always worked here.

In the network settings it's not even specifying 5G in the “network priority” options, although I couldn't say for sure that it ever has!

I tried a “network reset “ that I read on another thread, but that hasn't helped either. Stuck at 4G+ with full signal.

I thought I'd replied to this but it mustn't have worked.

I ported my number from Three. Before the port 5G was working, afterwards it wasn't - the iD SIM hasn't been working on 5G at all so it's not related to the number. Incidentally the phone is saying number unknown! I remember when I ported to Three originally it took ages to get the number to correct itself. Actually I think I had to put it in an old phone or an iPhone to fix it manually.

I'm leaning towards using it as an excuse to upgrade my phone - but I shouldn't have to do that as there's no reason for 5G to not work on a 5G handset, especially when they have other very similar models on their compatibility list.

Some posts get sent for review, nothing sinister with this. It’s just a pain.

I would say chip away at one issue at a time. The unknown number side should be fixable, so you could have a read and adjust your phone using this:

I can also see your logic about upgrading the phone, but if the 5G ain’t working as it should you’d be spending for the sake of it - but that’s totally up to you.

Unfortunately the Motorola G200 5G isn’t an officially supported device on our network, while we do share a signal network (and some underlying systems) with Three UK, it can’t be guaranteed that exactly what works with them would with us.
