MR

Can you please confirm that you have received my PAC request? I am not sure if I have done it correctly.  Many thanks for your help. It should come from three as my previous contract was with them.

 kind Regards

Chris Herbert

@Peter Krykant Snr - Happy to help, I’ve sent you a Private Message. I assume you’re seeing a ‘Details don’t match error’? Thanks.

Hi there @David Barwick

If you’re an iD customer then Three shouldn’t be calling you anyway. These calls arise from mobile number lists being available on the internet. Some cold callers know which batch of numbers were allocated by each mobile service provider - so Three would have had a batch all starting the same eg 077123xxxxx and thus dupe some of us by saying we’re calling you from Three and if you’re a customer of Three you drop your guard.

In your case if you were ever a customer of Three or used the number allocated by iD then this caller was part way there as iD might (not sure) have been allocated a batch from Three as part of their partnership agreement.

This to me is a classic spurious caller, personally I would ignore or better still block the number. If you have accidentally given any personal details, more so bank details, contact your bank etc advising them you may have been a victim of a scam.

At the end of the day if they were genuine you could question them to give you the last four digits of your iD account number and what bank use as they should know these - some business’s ask us similar questions. Obviously if they gave 4 wrong numbers for the account don’t correct them.

Hi @David Barwick

Unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to comment on if a caller was officially from Three UK or now, however a general rule of thumb is that if a deal is too good to be true (such as being offered an extra phone) it likely is too good to be true.

It may be best to contact Three UK directly to ask them.

Tom

Hopefully you blocked the SIM as soon as you/he realised the phone was lost. You can block the SIM via the iD app or online account portal.
