since Porting old number No OTP phone not varifying with number imessage


New iPhone 15 and ID contract with physical sim and New number phone working perfectly.

since the port of my old number can no longer receive OTP from my bank and other apps inc apple.

my phone will not verify my phone number. I have tried every conceivable solution found in internet and on the screen share with apple customer services and replacing the physical sim with an eSIM to no avail.

I am convinced that since resetting my old iPhone 11 and selling it on eBay somehow it still shows as a device on my appleID with my phone number connected to it. I think that’s creating a conflict trying to use the same number in 2 devices and be of security settings I cant delete the old phone from my account unless I’m using said phone. I’ve even emails the new owner via eBay but they are not responding.

apple disagree but can’t solve it. 
Id as a last resort can I be given a new phone number please and see if that solves it.

Can you please go to Settings - App - Phone - My Number and check that your number shows correctly there? 

This will need to start with +44 and not 0. For example +447123456789

I had the exact same issue when I ported over my old number. I tried contacting my bank via telephone banking - no luck, hadn't got a clue, said it was an issue with ID mobile. I physically went into my local branch a couple of weeks ago. To my relief they were able to resolve the issue which relates to the Verified by Visa or Visa Secure not recognising the new SIM. They were able to re-enable my account whilst in branch. I made an online payment whilst there which was successful. ​@owlsman was also having the same issue and following my advice he went into his bank at this weekend and got it sorted. Hopefully the same will work for you. Good luck.
