i have set up a new account on 15/07/25 and asked for my old number to be ported over on 13/08/25 which is when my contract expires with my previous provider

i haven’t received my new sim card yet but on 16/07/25 i received a text from my old provider to say my contract has been cancelled and i now have no phone or data

i can’t set up my new account as i can’t receive the text message and i am also having to pay my old provider extra costs as my contract has ended before it expires

i was advised to get a blank sim card from Curry’s which i have got but when i try to activate the card i am getting an error message

how can this situation be resolved?

the ID mobile sim for the new account isn’t arriving until 18/07/25 so that would mean i would be without a phone for 3 days , this is totally unacceptable and if ID mobile had ported the number over when asked too this wouldn’t have happened

there is no customer services number to actually speak to a person and i feel i am getting no help

can someone advise how to get my contract up and running with my existing number today

if this isn’t resolved today i will ask to cancel my contract and go to another provider

Sounds like something has gone wrong, @Louise Ross

If you gave a PAC from your old provider to iD Mobile, then your old provider would usually send an email and text saying your number was being transferred to a new provider.

Getting a message about your account being cancelled seems incorrect, especially if you have used the PAC from your old provider.

If iD accepted your PAC, they are 100% responsible for your number transfer.

Probably best to use the online iD Live Chat service, to contact their customer support.

https://idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

The iD advisers work until 8pm on weekdays - the iD bot works 24/7.

Tell the bot you’d like to “talk to a person”.
