switched today but both lines active

I’ve switched over to ID today and received a text to advise everything has been completed and my number had been moved over.

Issue is my old sim is still active with my number I wanted to bring over to ID and the ID sim is active with the ID provided number

when I’ve switched before, the old service disconnects straight away. Any thoughts or am I being impatient with it being switch day.

UK number transfers don’t happen immediately on the switching date, @Lightwest25

If your ‘old’ provider’s SIM is still active then either iD have not started working on your number transfer, or something has gone wrong.

Might be best to web chat with iD customer service regarding your switch.

The iD advisers work until 8pm on weekdays (6pm at weekends).

Tell the 24/7 iD chatbot that you’d like to “talk to a person”.

Thanks for your quick response.

I’ve received a text from ID confirming the switch is complete but my number still seems to be attached to my old provider as I’ve made a test call.

I spoken with live chat and they just told me to speak with my old provider. I’ll try again.

Okay @Lightwest25, the OFCOM mobile number switching rules make the gaining provider (iD Mobile) 100% responsible for getting your number transferred from your ‘old’ provider to iD Mobile.

You are entitled to compensation for every day the switch is delayed - perhaps the only stick you’ve got, other than returning your order and going elsewhere (if still within the new customer cooling-off period).

Same thing happened to me today but the other number has now been deactivated so there seems to have been a delay as I too had the two numbers active.

Yeah all sorted now.

if I hadn’t received the text saying the switch was complete I wouldn’t have been concerned.

All sorted now. Thanks all
