Verified by Visa Problems

I have moved from o2 to ID and everything is working fine but if I try to purchase anything online then payment is always declined despite funds available / card details correct et etc. My bank say it’s the mobile supplier’s problem but I’m not sure. Has anyone had this issue / can suggest a solution? Thanks”

Morning @karenwhite2024,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but is very unlikely to be a Mobile Network related issue. At what stage in the transaction process does it fail?

Thanks.

This is a problem for me, my bank also said that the issue is with id mobile. They said the number on my simcard is not my phone number. I think this is because I kept my old number when I switched to id mobile, and iD mobile hasnt updated it all this time.

don't know why this is marked as solved when the only case I've seen of it  being solved was the person leaving id mobile.

I have tried all the steps I could. I am on a google pixel 4 and the manual roaming is not an option because the "choose network" is greyed out with iD mobile selected.

I dont want to go through the faff of changing mobile provider, but if that's the only way I have to do it soon. I cant set up paypal and I cant buy things online if it's connected to visa because of this issue.

@knockno

Have you tried this?

Sounds like the provisional iD number has been retained by your phone. This can and does happen when putting the iD SIM in too soon - before the port has completed.

Hi @knockno

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue.

It would be best to follow the link provided by @Daz_S as you will need to ensure your phone is showing the correct number not only for this but to also avoid any issues with the service.

Can you please try this and let us know how you get on?

Thanks,

Nat

I have tried all the steps suggested by Daz S. Including the resetting of networks.

I even let some days past incase it needs a 24 hour update. Visa still doesnt recognise my phone number match my sim.

phone number section I have manually changed, but I noticed that the smsc number doesnt match my phone number, that section is greyed out so I cant open it . Google also suggest that my mobile courier will have to manually change the smsc number if I'm getting messages issue.

I have told you what my bank says needs to be done. Why cant iD mobile manually match my simcard to my phone number?

Is swapping provider my only choice?

It shouldn’t. The smsc number should be +447782000800 @knockno for iD/Three.

And if you read the lower half of that link, regarding signing out or RCS etc I’m not sure what to suggest next.

The only other thing is, what make and model phone are you using and did you get it new from iD or bring it with you from another provider

I have turned the RSC off, restarted my phone and turned it on again. No difference.

Is there a way for a genuine iD mobile staff to sort this out? I feel like its a huge oversight that makes iD mobile incompatible with certain banks -- and it's an easier option to change phone providers than it is to change banks.

I appreciate you giving us the time to suggests solutions.

My mobile is a pixel 4. When I swapped over I kept my old number. But that shouldn't stop my visa transactions, especially when I was confirmed that it would be simple with no issue.

Hi @knockno

Have you tried a replacement SIM card?

Is this an issue with an OTP from one sender or multiple senders?

I'm assuming it's the one sender - Visa Verification. I can make online payment if a website isnt using visa and my bank is able to send me texts.

I havent tried a replacement sim card since people who have just moved to iD mobile is also having this issue.

Hmm. So these Visa verification texts, do they come from a short text number or a name?

If its a number, although doubtful - but you’ve got me thinking, have you turned off premium on your account? If you have try turning it back on, give it a minimum 10 mins, try making a payment and see if it then allows the text to come through.

If it does then incoming short text codes from your Visa fall into a chargeable bracket.
