voicemail pin refused

I have been trying to set up voicemail but every pin I try is unacceptable. They have been been mostly 4 or 6 numbers which would mean something to me but not simple things like  1234 etc.  What am I doing wrong.

Hey @Alan Graham,

Are you still experiencing issues? I just set up a voicemail using my DOB as DDMM and this worked for me. Perhaps try this?

Thanks.

Setting up voicemail and the PIN isn’t acceptable even with 10 digits. Help!

Hey there @Anna Nowicka, welcome to Community!

Have you tried entering 0000 or 1234?

Do you remember what you originally set it up as?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi, I'm having the same issue and so is my partner, we're both new to id and someone has left Me a voicemail which I cannot access without setting up my mail box. However it says all the pins I'm inputting are not valid

Hey there @Jordanna1994, sorry to hear that.

Did you set up your voicemail pin when you joined us?

Have you tried both “0000” and “1234” please?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler,

Nothing has been set up on either phone. To be honest we don't want our voices onit. We have both just joined from ee and ported over our numbers. All the pins we are putting in like end of phone numbers, important dates like out relationship start date is saying cannot be used.

This is exactly what is happening to me and I’ve seen every answer that you’ve replied to other customers questions and none of these are working. Every pin I have tried is refused it keeps saying “that option is not available” and then the call ends. I’m receiving important voicemails from doctors and I cannot even access them? Can you actually solve this instead of giving everyone the same answer.

Hey there @nkx1, have you tried disabling and re-enabling voicemail?

Also, have you been able to use voicemail with us previously, or always had the issue, and if so, for how long?

Thanks,

Tyler

Yes I tried disabling and enabling it, I was receiving voicemails and then it stopped working for the last couple weeks

Hi @Polly Louise

Sorry to hear this, please could you let us know exactly what’s happening when you’re attempting to set up voicemail?

Have you joined us recently?

Good morning,

I am having the same issue with a new phone. Previously, I got around by using recommended DDMM. But upon replicating this on another phone, it brings up the same error message as others have experienced. Need to urgently access voicemails. Does seem a little strange how every combination is rejected. Can someone help me with this, please?

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Chris

The number was transfered across from my existing network. I didn't previously have a pin for voicemail, so I don't think that's the issue although hope your team can assist me.

Thanks,

Chris

Thank you @Chris_L. Have you also tried the following?

1. Changing Your PIN (If possible):

  • If you can access voicemail but are having trouble with a specific PIN, you can change it.
  • Instructions: Dial 123, then press 2, then press 1 to change your PIN. You will be prompted to enter your new PIN twice.

2. Clearing Phone App Cache/Storage:

  • If you're still having trouble, try clearing the cache and storage for the Phone app.

3. Resetting network settings

  • For most Android; Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth (Resetting network settings will NOT reset any personal data (Photos, Videos, Contacts etc) only network settings.)

Thanks,

Tyler
