I purchased a SIM card for my son a week ago, which was fine. Pleased with the service I ordered a phone and SIM for my wife yesterday, but got an email from ID Mobile this morning saying my order was cancelled because I need to have 90 days payment history before ordering again.

This has really annoyed me. I did not see anywhere when I ordered the first SIM that this would be the case. If I am being credit checked each time I don’t understand why a 90 day wait is required. Can anyone explain? Thanks.

Unfortunately ​@CambsAdrian, that’s just standard policy for credit risk avoidance at iD Mobile. 

Every credit check resulting in an approval, makes you less creditworthy in the eyes of the reference agencies.

All contracts are dependant on the outcome of the credit check. It seems on this occasion the advice was to allow 90 days or usually 3 on time payments to pass before applying for another contract.

Thanks for the responses! I just thought credit checks were instantaneous, so surprised about the need to wait for 3 on time payments as well. Ho hum...
