How do I activate my SIM?

 

 

If you've received a new SIM card because you've recently upgraded with us, or you've received a replacement SIM card, you'll need to activate it before you can use it. There’s a few ways you can do this:

 

  • In the iD Mobile app or My Account Online.

To activate a replacement SIM in the iD Mobile app or My Account Online, you can:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app or log-in to My Account Online.
  2. Tap ‘Plan’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM & phone management’.
  4. Tap ‘Activate a replacement SIM’.
  5. Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.
  6. Tap ‘Activate your SIM’.

 

  • On our website.

If you’ve not registered for the iD Mobile app or My Account Online, you can:

  1. Visit this website: https://my.idmobile.co.uk/activate-sim-outside.
  2. Tap ‘No, not yet’.
  3. Choose your plan type.
  4. Enter your iD Mobile number.
  5. Select a contact method to receive your security code.
  6. Enter your security code.
  7. Tap ‘Submit security code’.
  8. Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.
  9. Tap ‘Activate your SIM’.

How do I activate my eSIM?

 

 

If you've received an eSIM because you selected an eSIM at basket, upgraded to an eSIM only phone, or you’ve been sent a replacement eSIM, you'll need to activate it before you can use it. There’s a few ways you can do this:

 

iPhone.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Mobile Service’.
  3. Tap ‘Set Up Mobile Service’ or ‘Add eSIM’.
  4. Not connected? Choose a Wi-Fi network to download your eSIM.
  5. Tap ‘Use QR Code’.
  6. Scan the QR Code we sent you via email. Or, tap ‘Open Photos’ and upload it.
  7. Tap ‘Continue’.
  8. Tap ‘Done’.

 

Samsung Galaxy.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Connections’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM card manager’.
  4. Tap ‘Add mobile plan’.
  5. Tap ‘Scan QR code from service provider’.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

Most other Android phones.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Network & Internet’.
  3. Tap ‘SIMs’.
  4. Tap ‘Download a SIM instead?’.
  5. Tap ‘Next’.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

If your eSIM QR Code is not working or your phone’s camera is damaged, here’s how you can manually activate your eSIM:

 

iPhone.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Mobile Service’.
  3. Tap ‘Set Up Mobile Service’ or ‘Add eSIM’.
  4. Not connected? Choose a Wi-Fi network to download your eSIM.
  5. Tap ‘Use QR Code’.
  6. Tap ‘Enter Details Manually’.
  7. Input the SM-DP+ Address & Activation Code we sent you via email. Once complete, tap “Next”.
  8. Tap ‘Continue’.
  9. Tap ‘Done’.

 

Samsung Galaxy.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Connections’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM card manager’.
  4. Tap ‘Add mobile plan’.
  5. Tap ‘Add using activation code’.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

Most other Android phones.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Network & Internet’.
  3. Tap ‘SIMs’.
  4. Tap ‘Download a SIM instead?’.
  5. Tap ‘Next’.
  6. Tap ‘Need help?’.
  7. Tap ‘Enter it manually’.
  8. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

How do I delete my eSIM?

 

Deleting your eSIM is easy! Here’s how:

 

iPhone.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Mobile Service’.
  3. Tap ‘Delete eSIM’.
  4. Tap ‘Delete eSIM’.

 

Samsung Galaxy.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Connections’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM card manager’.
  4. Tap the eSIM you’d like to delete.
  5. Tap ‘Remove’.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

Most other Android phones.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap ‘Connections’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM card manager’.
  4. Tap ‘Add mobile plan’.
  5. Tap ‘Scan QR code from service provider’.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

Please note: Deleting your eSIM does not cancel your iD Mobile plan. To continue using the plan, you must get a replacement eSIM. Alternatively, log in to the iD Mobile App to cancel your plan.
