Most new iD Mobile SIM cards come pre-activated and ready to use. However, if you've ordered a replacement SIM (because your old one was lost or damaged) or you've upgraded to a new plan, you'll need to activate the new SIM manually.
How do I activate my physical SIM card?
You can activate your new SIM easily via the iD Mobile app or our website. You'll just need the 19-digit number printed on the back of the card holder your SIM came in.
Option 1: The iD Mobile app (Recommended)
- Open the iD Mobile app or log in to my.idmobile.co.uk.
- Tap Plan.

- Scroll down to Quick links.

- Tap Your SIM / eSIM.

- Tap Activate a replacement SIM or eSIM.

- Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.

- Tap Activate your SIM.

Option 2: Our website
If you haven't registered for the app yet, you can use our online activation page:
- Visit my.idmobile.co.uk/activate-sim-outside.
- Tap No, not yet.
- Choose your plan type and enter your iD Mobile number.
- We'll send you a security code. Enter this code to verify it's you.
- Enter your 19-digit SIM card number.
- Tap Activate your SIM.
What happens next?
Your old SIM will be disconnected immediately. Your new SIM typically activates within 1 hour, but can take up to 24 hours.
We recommend turning your phone OFF and ON again every so often to help the new SIM connect to the network.
How do I activate my eSIM?
Whether you're setting up your eSIM for the first time or replacing it, there is no separate "activation".
