Can't receive messages from some of my friends

When in Spain earlier this year I was unable to receive text messages from some of my friends some of whom were in the same country and others in the UK. I could send a text ok but couldn’t get an answer.

Hi @Sheila Mitchell,

This sounds odd. Which phone are you using? If it is an iPhone, then iMessage may not have been set up correctly, or you may not have had access to the internet.

Did this happen throughout your time in Spain and did it happen with every incoming message?

It happened from one person in the UK all the time and from two people who were in Spain now and again. I have an iPhone and these were text messages

Hi @Sheila Mitchell,

If that user was texting you from an iPhone, then iMessage may be the issue here. Did you have data roaming turned on and was your mobile data working away from WiFi?

My data was not on but when it was on T received the text messages on my iPad but still not on my iphone
