if I was to buy a new iPhone 11 on iD contract, is it possible to unlock it before the 6 month ‘locked’ period is up?

You would not be able to unlock a device prior to 6-months.
Phones sold by us should be unlocked to any UK network, but in the event your iPhone is locked, it’ll be 6-months before you can look into this.
In regards to a Three UK SIM working in the device, it’s not something we’ve tested so we can’t give a definitive answer. It should work, due to our network sharing Three UK’s masts but we cannot guarantee this.

Also, would a Three sim work in a phone from iD if it was locked, as they use the same network.
