ID sim not recognised in car

Hi i ordered a new sim as my 2006 xc90 needs the Simcard installed in the car to use the phone.
My giffgaff sim works perfectly in the car and the ID sim works in my iphone however the car just says insert sim when the id sim is installed. Does the car require an older gsm simcard or something ??

I'm sorry to hear this! Do you know if your car supports a 3G connection? If it can only pick up calls and texts on 2G, then our network will not work as we only have access to the 3G & 4G service.
