How can I order a traditional PAYG sim (with no plan) with iD mobile, please?

Looking to move to iD mobile from another network provider and have PAC code to keep existing mobile number

I’ve asked iD mobile online via Live Chat and agent says need to go to store. I went to Currys store and they say they only sell monthly plans and need to order online. So I go back to Live Chat and again they say need to go to store. So I’m going round and round in circles. I ask if I can speak to manager or another agent. Live chat agent said no as I’m not a current iD customer and speak to another agent same response

Unless you own a Time Machine, you can’t. iD Mobile only offers prepaid plans on their Pay Go SIMs.

    Hi @hapster

Yes, once the bundle that comes with the SIM card expires, the plan will automatically move onto a standard Pay As You Go (PAYG) tariff.

    URGENT:

iD mobile SIM card not working on either Oppo CPH1877 (Oppo R17 Pro) nor Samsung Galaxy A8 Star (Samsung SM-G8850)

Did receive text messages on Oppo but could not call out and could not receive calls (either inside flat nor outside flat). Switched on and off and still does not work.

Went to Currys Store who could not fix issue. They replaced the SIM card and now no service whatsoever on either SIM card.

Very frustrating as have important GP calls on Thurs 8 Jan and Fri 9 Jan so need phone to be working.

Did ask before joining iD mobile if SIM Card would work on 4G Android phones and was told on Live Chat that they would work. Also bought £6 plan. If doesn’t work, how get PAC code to switch to network which does work and get £6 refund asap, pls?

Very frustrating as initially enquired with Live Chat why SIM card not working. Got through and answered a few questions but then the agent did not respond for over 20 mins at which point quickly left to go to nearest Currys store before they closed. Have the Live Chat transcript

How do I raise  a complaint about this issue as I can’t receive important GP/doctor calls, pls?

PLS HELP ASAP as HAVE IMPORTANT GP CALLS TO RECEIVE ON THURS 8 JAN & FRI 9 JAN

Try activating the new SIM card using the link below:

Thanks for reply but doesn’t help.

The first sim card from iD mobile was already activated as I got text messages. Issue was that I could not make or receive calls. Hence I went to Currys store to enquire (because the agent on Live Chat after initially been put through kept me waiting for over 20 mins with no reply) quickly before they closed. They tried on both my Android 4G phones but both did not work. As a last resort, they gave me another replacement SIM card before they closed shop and now I have no service on both the first SIM card from iD mobile and also no service on the 2nd SIM card from iD mobile provided by Currys. The first sim card was posted to me.

You’ll likely need to activate the second SIM. You can do this using the link I posted. If that doesn’t work, start a live chat session tomorrow when support opens and have them activate it for you.

    Thanks WelshPaul for your replies.

I have no option but to try live chat again tomorrow but experience been really bad on Live Chat so think will just go to Currys at 9am and hope GPs don’t call me between 8-9am and hope 2nd sim card works but I don’t think it will now as neither of my 4G Android phones on approved list. Will have to get PAC code asap from iD mobile and see if another network provider can give me service asap. Can’t even request PAC code now as no texts. Before Currys switched me to their replacement iD Mobile SIM card, at least I was getting text message.

    Kind Regards,
