Keeping my phone number but on a new phone

Hello, I am an existing ID customer but I would like to buy a new phone through carphone warehouse while keeping the same phone number. I have been given information that I can’t use a PAC code on a network I already use and need to contact my network directly to discuss.

    Hi @MateuszStad17

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Please could you confirm whether you are purchasing the phone  cash purchase, and whether you already have a SIM only deal with us?

If you already have a SIM only plan with iD Mobile, you can simply move your existing SIM into your new handset and continue using your number.

However, if you are taking out a new handset on a contract, please note that you will not be able to keep your current number via an internal port, as we do not support internal number transfers between contracts.

You can transfer a number from a different network to us, or from us to another network using a PAC code. The only way to retain your existing number with iD Mobile is through an upgrade from your current contract, which will carry your number across to the new agreement.

This is also outlined on our iD Community page for reference:
