trouble upgrading trough carphone warehouse


Hi, so I’m trying to upgrade my phone (contract ends at the end of may), I’ve been cleared to upgrade though the ID mobile app, however looking on the Carphone warehouse their deals are better, it lets us place the order etc. then get an email & txt saying “To complete your order we need to clarify information you have provided on your order. Once we have confirmed this we will be able to proceed with your order.” Then to call a number. We did this but the person on the phone didn’t have any idea. Ans was advised to wait till my contract ends.We left it. We’ve just tried to upgrade again and the  same thing has happened again, my dad is going to call tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea why this is happening? And when we call to discus like the email says no one knows why.

You can indeed upgrade via Carphone Warehouse, so long as you’re logged in, and next to the order, it states “UPGRADE”. If it does not state upgrade, or you’re not logged in, then it would not be an upgrade, it’d be a completely new plan.

You can indeed upgrade via Carphone Warehouse, so long as you’re logged in, and next to the order, it states “UPGRADE”. If it does not state upgrade, or you’re not logged in, then it would not be an upgrade, it’d be a completely new plan.

We are logged in, and it does state upgrade but still having the same problem :(

I’m guessing you failed some internal security check(s). Are you sure all the information supplied on the application matches that currently held by iD Mobile?

Assuming so yes. The phone is in my dads name, last time I had someone from carpgone warehouse call me , but they couldn’t talk to me as it’s not in my name , just my phone number, I gave my dads number and I was told they would contact my dad but no one ever did

@shannona27  Well this is the case the account holder has to make the purchase in this case the upgrade as its in your dad's name he'll have to do this. As their are secure levels when ordering for such a case.

He spoke to someone this morning, it’s because they was having trouble verifying the 1p transaction online. All sorted now. Thankyou all

Hi im having a problem with internal security Carphone Warehouse misspelled my middle name by mistake so called to change it and reassure me that wouldn’t effect the security check and reconfirm i don’t need a credit check because the iPhone was already available to me on pre selected upgrade offers. But the lady said she doesn’t understand why keep saying internal security issue she checked my name and I checked the account name and id mobile have a hyphen first name and middle name so customer advisor altered it to the exact same as my id mobile which has already verified via my passport 6 months ago my identity but still unable to pass security i was wondering how you father managed to resolve the issues he experienced

That’s a great issue due to my specific health issues and I am unable to communicate via voice calls due to severe disability and damage vocal cords during a operation and developing sepsis i havr autoimmune disease which is degenerative no cure and medication for bladder & bowel cancer efforts may cognitive and physical motor skills make accessible alternatives such as relay not suitable
