Hi there @Diane Large

Yes you can do just that.

What I would suggest is if you go via the iD app or online portal use the upgrade deals/change my plan options via either to avoid the chance of accidentally opening another account. From the home screen the upgrade deals will be there after 10 months on a 12 month contract and 22 months on a 24 month contract.

Or if you don’t want to tie yourself in to a 12/24 month contract opt for the change my plan instead as after your existing minimum term contract is up it will revert to a rolling month contract anyway. These ‘deals’ can work out slightly higher in cost but the benefit is you can upgrade every 30 days to a better deal as they become available - my wife and I did just that the other month, took out a very good data deal without no increase in price. On the subject of price increases 30 day contracts don’t have price rises every April either!

Hi @Diane Large

Of course, you won’t need to upgrade to a new device, you can upgrade to a SIM only plan.

Upgrades to a new device are (from a 24 month device plan) typically available 60 days before your contracted term ends, SIM only available once the contracted term has ended.

Hi @Diane Large

Nope, if you upgrade your current account, you’ll keep on the same SIM.

Do you mean upgrade to another mobile phone on my account or just keep my old phone and sim but just go on to a sim only account with this sim what still in ?

I’d say he means everything stays as it is - same phone and same SIM and same account (credentials), you’ll just move it to a SIM only (change my plan at month 12 or 24 would be my advice but you can opt for a 12 or 24 month fixed term SIM only plan)

Hi @Diane Large

An “upgrade” isn’t necessarily to a new phone, you can upgrade to a new phone OR just a SIM only plan if you wish.

As long as what you’re processing and purchasing is an upgrade and not a new line, you’ll keep the same account, number, SIM etc.
