Unfortunately @mick63, the only way to end a 24-month minimum term contract early, is to pay the early termination fee.

Text INFO to 85075 to get an idea of the exit cost if you’re still within the contract minimum term.

Hey there @mick63, as kindly advised by @andewhite, if you want to end the contract early, you’d need to pay the early termination fee.

However, this is simply to disconnect the account, not to be able to upgrade.

Thanks,

Tyler

@Tyler it's not that I want to end my contract but that I want to start a new one with a more reliable mobile maybe a pixel or something that's not going to break in 9 months.. with my flip 5 being unusable I'm using a old mobile which is struggling with apps crashing as I mainly use my mobile online , I don't make many calls so I don't see the point of taking out a second contract but my existing contract says I can't upgrade until November

Hi @mick63

Was the phone purchased from iD Mobile as part of a plan? If so the warranty of the phone for is  30 days.
If it is your personal phone then the SIM can be transferred directly to another handset (that uses the same SIM card size) that has VoLTE (4G) capability if you want to continue the contract with iD Mobile.
You don’t need to take out another contract.
It may be worth using the Live Chat to see where you stand…
https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

When you open the chat type ‘talk to a person’ in the dialogue box to get around answering all the inane chat bot questions.
Please be aware that the advisors handle a few chats at a time so it may take a while to actually get a chat started and then get replies, so make sure you have the time set aside to do this.

Good Luck x

Hey there @mick63, I understand.

Where did you purchase the phone from?

Thanks,

@mick63  So sorry to hear the problems you currently have and seems like buying a used phone for now is your best option.

In the UK, if a brand new phone develops a fault within the first year of a 2-year contract, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to ask the retailer for a repair or replacement, as the product should be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose; you can even request a full refund within the first 30 days of purchase if the fault is significant.

But also you have to prove the device is faulty, for Samsung to say your device has be dropped is one thing. There has be reports of screens malfunction and Samsung are aware of it on these devices. It's time consuming I know but if you can find another Samsung service centre to take your device to is worth a shot.

Not that it helps you I an issue with a Samsung device a few years back and it was the motherboard and a known issue with Samsung. I Got my Galaxy Note motherboard replaced within it's warranty free of charge 18 months in use after proving it was the device.

Hi @mick63

Okay, our best recommendations would be to take the device into your local Currys store to look under options under warranty, however if Samsung say they believe it’s been dropped, Carphone are likely to assume the same.
