New Customers Offered Better Deals

Hi everyone.

Has my one else noticed that new customers are apparently offered a better Del than us existing ones?

I’ve been with ID for a long time now on a monthly rolling contract and when I looked at upgrade plans for sim only I saw that unlimited everything is an option for £18/month.

However, when a friend looked who isn’t an ID customer they got the same deall offered for only £15/month.

I thought these sort of goings on were now illegal, as that’s what the energy companies used to do.

Anyone got any insights as to why/how this is happening and who we can speak to in ID to try to get the same good deals offered to new customers.

Cheers

Hi @Rick1486

Upgrade offers and new customer line offers tend to be different, if you aren’t seeing an upgrade offer you’re happy with, it’ll be worth calling the sales team on 0207 1391 397.

This would not be illegal.

Tried calling the sales team as I was ready for an upgrade and there was a big difference between what was on offer to new customers, and existing upgrades.

The only offer they gave as an upgrade with a similar monthly price to that for newbies had a huge upfront cost of over £200 for the phone - which would take the overall cost over 2 years ridiculously high.

Unfortunately I am going to have to switch to a different provider [Mozillion] which gives a NEW S25 under £28pm. Runs on EE network so no concerns there, also has same roaming. Only difference is no data rollover .. but never made use of that anyway

Hello @Freakyfurface

Thank you for posting.

We are very sorry to hear the team were not able to offer you a suitable deal for your desired handset.

We do hope we can reconnect in the future!

That’s how it works across the industry. You’ll be saying the same about Mozillion once your minimum term is up and you’re looking to upgrade.
