upgrade from sim to phone

I have a monthly SIM with ID at the moment, is there a credit check to upgrade to a new phone contract on ID?

If you’re upgrading from a SIM only contract to a 24-month phone contract there’s no credit check involved. A credit check is ran with new connection deals only.

Just so that you’re aware, you would need to be on your existing SIM only plan for at least 6-months before you’re given the option to upgrade to a phone contract.

I was invited to upgrade at the start of December (SIM only, 6 months into a 12 month contract). Went all the way through to getting a confirmation email of the order for a Samsung Flip 6, assumed all was good but then had an email asking to ring customer services. Rang customer services, they sent me a contract to sign then got a message to say "declined" and after trying a few things, the guy still couldn't sort for me. So now I have a signed contract, my recycling pack for my current phone & no Flip 6 + my iD account still says SIM-only. So good luck lol!

When you upgrade a credit check isn’t carried out and you would be able to check the devices you are eligible for.

Are you sure you selected the upgrade option?

You can view the upgrade options via your iD Mobile account or the app.

Hey Kash. Yep I selected the upgrade option, had an email confirming it all then it went wrong lol. No idea why it's offered if I'm not allowed...

Have you checked with the Sales Team what upgrades you are eligible for?

Yep I still see the upgrade options. Sales wanted to sell me a device that wasn't the one I wanted so wasn't interested.

Just odd I'm sat here with a signed contract but nothing has changed lol.
