Rollover conundrum

So after looking at some previous posts about issues regarding data rollover, I can’t seem to find the conundrum I’m presented with. Well it’s not exactly a conundrum, but more of I’m really confused. 
 

As I believe it, that whatever data allowance you don’t use on your plan from this month is rolled over to the following month. So for example, on my 50GB plan, if I only use 1GB of data this month, leaving me with 49GB. This is rolled over and added to my new 50GB leaving me with 99GB in total next month. 
 

If this is the case, my recent ID bill logged that I only used 446MB of data for this month (it’s for my new iPad and I’ve not been anywhere with it yet) but only carried over 6GB. My ID mobile app is only showing 56GB/50GB. 
 

Surely, it should be showing 99GB/50GB as I’ve only used less than 1GB  

 

Maybe I’ve totally misunderstood how it works. Can some please enlighten me.

Have you recently changed your plan? This might be causing the discrepancy.
