Question

Google search requesting CAPTCHA every time

Use DuckDuckGo as my main search engine, but occasionally need to use Google, when I do It says “ Your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.” and I have to complete a CAPTCHA. It does this on the phone as well as on the PC while tethered.

Why is it doing it? Never had this problem before joining iD

Hi @peterupfold,

Are you accessing Google through an App or your web browser? Are you signed into a Google account?

Is this happening every single time @peterupfold , or just when searching a particular topic?

It’s not my main search engine, but AFAIK it does.

HI @peterupfold, and presumably this only happens when using mobile data and not over Wi-Fi?

Thank you,

Rory

Yes, only since using iD

Okay, this is rather odd and not something I’m aware of. If you jump on Live Chat, they’ll be able to raise a technical ticket for you and have the team look into what might be causing it.

Thank you,

Rory
