I can't get a phone signal in my house over the last 2 months, but it worked fine for the 18 months prior to that. My daughter is also on ID and she has no problems with the signal

Sounds as though it may be something wrong with the handset maybe. Have you tried placing your SIM in your daughters handset to see how the signal is then?
How long have you had the SIM card and handset?
