My data, contacts etc have transferred using Samsung switch ( from android) but none of the apps from my old phone have transferred. Can you tell me how I can move the apps from my old android to my new Samsung please?

Alternatively, you can download the apps again from your Play Store account.

Typically apps won’t directly transfer over via Smart Switch but would tell the Google Play Store which ones to redownload.
It may be worth going to the Google Play Store, tapping the top right, “Manage apps and device, Manage and then filter between installed and uninstalled to see what’s missing.
