Hey ID Hive Mind,

I'm going to France in a couple of months and I'm a little confused as to the usage whilst away. I keep reading some people say you can use in France your entire limit as you would in the UK and then I read something about fair usage policy. I'm away for just under 3 weeks if that affects anything! Thanks in advance!!  I have a 20GB data allowance and unlimited minutes and texts.

Hey David, currently, it your minutes and texts can be used fully with no cap/fair usage amount.

But for data, this is based on the rate here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/eu-roaming/fair-usage-policy

Scroll down to Open Data Policy and enter the monhtly cost to work out how much of your allowance you can use.

Separately, there is a fair usage policy if you were to roam longer than 4-months, but this won’t apply to you in this case.

So to summarise, only data is impacted in your scenario and to work out how much you can use, just head to the link above and input how much you pay.
