I think an eSIM is a good option @Sue Bee
I visited the US and Australia in Jan ‘23, and used a data only eSIM to avoid huge mobile data roaming charges - it worked great.

If you bought your Samsung S22 from iD Mobile, your device is not network locked @Sue Bee.

Hey @Sue Bee

If you are going to have the iD SIM in the phone also, best to turn Roaming OFF in the app and also set the cap to £0.00 to avoid charges.
