I’m moving abroad for a long while . I’d like to keep my UK number for when I return. I won’t need UK data or minutes or texts - I will be in australia. Is there a way for me to hang on to my UK number for free?

If you have an iD Mobile contract and keep your iD Mobile account active you’ll also keep the number.
However that also means that you’ll need to keep paying the monthly amount.
If you are on Pay as you go, The account may be disconnected if it's more than 4-months of non-usage.
In this case you would lose the number.
