I haven't been able to make or receive calls for nearly 6 weeks

Summary of issue:

I haven’t able to make or receive calls for nearly 6 weeks, this is an issue with where I live in Nottingham as I seemed to be fine over the weekend in rural wales on the coast!

I’m currently going through the process of selling my house/ finding a new one and its added so much stress not being able to ring solicitors, estate agents, conveyancers and everyone else involved.

I have a nearly brand new iphone 15 Pro, so its not the phone.

Things I've tried:

  • Tried a replacement sim
  • Tried switching around settings for if the phone is using 5G/ 4G etc.
  • Reset network settings multiple times
  • Going to Currys who said this is a known issue iD are “working on”
  • turning airplane mode on and off for set period of time
  • Updating phones software

iD have been utterly useless in trying to resolve the issue, no one is able to give me an update on the fix and despite them knowing this a network issue the network outage checker says everything is fine.

I’ve heard nothing from them except when I have had to get in contact myself. I’ve been told they’ve tried to ring me multiple times and its on me that I haven’t picked up, despite this being my whole issue.

I’m out of things to try and have wasted so much time on live chat and the live chat with complaints. Do I have another option but to go buy a sim for another network?

Just get a SIM for another non-Three UK network, and save yourself from any further hassle and stress in the Nottingham area, @oliverc53

Three UK (the iD network partner) has shutdown their 3G mobile network in that area, which seems to have resulted in unexpected consequences for some consumers using the Three UK network in that area, even with modern smartphones.

That sounds frustrating, @oliverc53. I’d also be annoyed.

@oliverc53  I’m in derby and have the same issue with my I phone 15 for 4 weeks now. ID have been completely useless. I’ve just literally got off from the live chat. I asked if anyone else was having the same problem and she no, just me!! But there’s lots of people on the community chat experiencing the same problem. It’s frustrating they can’t own up and fix it!!

Hi @oliverc53,

Welcome to the Community!

It sounds like you’ve tried everything already so please let us know if you need us to PM you to investigate further.

@Alison Carter seems like you have been having issues for a while.

Did the team raise a ticket for you or are they any issues showing in the area?

If you haven’t already I would advise testing the SIM in a different handset or a replacement SIM if that doesn’t improve things.

Hi @Kash I’ve still had no resolution, someone in my local Currys tried to raise it via their customer care team but I’d had nothing from them either.

I’d appreciate a PM to investigate further.

Thanks,

Oliver

Hi @Kash I’ve still not heard from you and I’m still experiencing the issue.

I think iD may have the worst customer service I’ve ever tried to deal with

My wife has same issue with her phone. We both switched to ID at the same time. My phone (One Plus Nord) works fine. Her iPhone wouldn't enable her to make or receive calls. Despite it saying her model (iPhone 8) was ok on the phone checker, we decided to get her a new iphone just in case that was the issue.  Same situation with new phone Seems to work in other locations but not at home. What's App etc, no issues. Tried multiple network resets, swapping Sim cards, etc. Everything that I read on the community for how to fix it… putting card in my phone it works ok. Bizarre that it is fine for me (so I'm guessing not a coverage issue, but blooming annoying and makes the contract not fit for purpose.

Hi @RobinNS,

Welcome to the Community!

How many other devices have you tested the SIM in?

I would advise to first try a replacement SIM card which you can obtain from Curry’s.

If you have any issues, please advise the account holder to contact us and we can look into it.
