old number hasnt switched over

I requested to keep my old number when I switched from Vodafone to id mobile on 06/06/24. But when I ring or message people it comes up with the new number that I don't want. So many people have my old number that id like to keep as requested could this be sorted please?

Hi @Adele_94

I’d recommend the following;

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

Have you tried a NETWORK RESET on your device, @Adele_94

The handset user guide should explain the reset procedures.

Okay @Adele_94, perhaps Google “NETWORK RESET” for your handset, or look at your handset user guide, which should explain the reset procedures.
