Yes I get those types too (bar voicemail as I don’t want this) and thus far haven't seen any charges.

So, do you see any in your sent messages, things like a competition or maybe to a radio station, things like this?

I would suggest you either use the iD Mobile app or their online portal and turn off premium in your settings.

For the app its → open the app → Planmanage your iD servicespremium and toggle this to off and click save.

Hi @Sutherland,

Welcome to the Community!

It sounds like a subscription or text message charge.

Please check your bill for the number and the charge amount.

You’ll need to contact the company directly if its a subscription service or premium texts.

Hi. I'm getting the same £3.75 charge but I have NO subscriptions and I have NOT been texting any numbers that would cause a charge.  Equally, there are no phone numbers next to this extra charge, so what exactly am I paying for? How can you justify taking this extra payment, especially with no evidence???

The only thing I can think of @FionaMak is that this charge is for incoming text messages. Do you receive any texts to your phone from other numbers not in your contacts? Like maybe a short code (ie 12345) perhaps?

NHS, voicemail, other than that, no.

So how do I go about getting this £3.75 stopped? If ID mobile are doing this to thousands of others, that's easy money and not what customers signed up to.

Can't see any sent numbers like those you mention, as I simply don't use my phone in that way.  Boring, no competitions entered.

I've switched off the voicemail (and international calls) following your guidance, so thanks for that. Let's see what happens next month, but guess that's multiple £3.75's wasted so far.

Okay, so by the sounds of it they were incoming texts then. Why, there could be a simple answer or a tin foil hat type answer, I simply wouldn’t know. But you’re not the first one to be mentioning seeing charges for texts in the last few days (and yes this one could be either a simple or tin foil statement).

And premium too (you didn’t mention this)? @FionaMak

(FWIW ALL of those options are switched off here at the mo, then if one sneaks on to the bill I can start pointing a finger😈)

@Daz_S yes, switched them all off but I'll go back and double check. Like you, I will then be in a stronger position to raise this with iD, who may of course, already have made a pretty penny out of all the folk impacted!

I like you way you’re also thinking @FionaMak!

And on one positive note, at least in this day and age iD do give us some control over how our account is set up. Though one might question their choice of defaults, as all of mine were on when I first joined iD.
