Change plan on new sim

Hello

I have just ordered a new 1 monthly sim. However I have just spotted a better plan for people who are  already customers of ID. I have not received the new sim yet but my Direct Debit is all set up.

What is the best course to take to get this better plan? Can I just keep the sim {when it arrives}, and change the plan?

Would welcome  your advice .

Sue

You have a cooling-off period where you can cancel the SIM you ordered, but you will be billed for the period between activation and cancellation. Once done, you can order the better plan SIM, but you will have to pass a second credit check. If you fail this you won't have any plan at all!

My advice would be to stick with the plan you currently have for a month but ask a live chat agent to change your current plan to the better plan from next month onwards.

Thank you , the better plan was for ID customers wanting another sim. I have this one for the summer months with lots of data….but maybe sticking with it for a month would be easier.

Thanks again

I did consider returning it but ,I think to stick with it and try for the better plan after a month. I use it for the summer , I'm just annoyed with myself for not spotting the deal for present customers. I think a new sim was the thing with this plan..

Thanks anyway, my bad 🤭

Sim change plan is the contract same date as previous ended date not upgrade.when you change your plan  or does the new date start?

A change of plan is completely different to an upgrade. According to the documents, a change of plan does not increase the contract duration, whereas an upgrade (depending on the deal taken) does increase it to a minimum term of 12 months.
