Calling Italy is free. Why I cannot make a phone call to Italy?

When I tried it said it is not possible because your cap is set to zero.

Can someone explain to why I need to set the cap > 0 if the call is free?

I am really disappointed.

I am  new customer…

Calls from the UK to an Italian landline or mobile are not included in your calls allowance, @Ellie0

Assuming you’ve allowed ‘International’ calls using your iD account, if your bill cap is £0, you can’t phone Italy from the UK because iD have no way of billing for the call.
