Data not working in Montenegro

Recently went to Montenegro and although I had my billing cap set to £5 my iPhone would not use data. I know it’s not included in free to roam but thought it should work up to £5 limit.

Okay @Stephen Pountney, iD Mobile charge £1.50/MB for Internet and data when roaming in Montenegro.

So, using just 10MB = £15.

Your £5 bill cap would allow use of 3.33MB - not sure you can do much online with this amount of data.

Thanks Andy. I was aware of the cost, but nothing happened at all so not even the £5 cap was used. Just wondered if there was another reason why it didn’t connect.

Data roaming would need to be enabled on by your handset (using the iD SIM), and also your iD account, @Stephen Pountney

Check the iOS Settings for this on your handset.

Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data Options > Data Roaming

You can toggle “Data Roaming” ON / OFF as required.

Yes. All done before I left. I was on a cruise that visited Croatia and Italy as well and the roaming worked fine. Just not in Montenegro.

Perhaps the iD roaming partner in Montenegro only provided 2G in your cruise location, @Stephen Pountney

Croatia and Italy are listed by iD in their list of inclusive EU roaming destinations.

Hi @Stephen Pountney,

Welcome to the Community!

Whilst in Montenegro, we would advise trying to manually connecting to Mtel and Telenor.

In order to fix any issues we would need you to contact us whilst you are abroad so that we can troubleshoot the issue with you.
