Data not working in toam free destination


I’m in Austria, and my phone is showing that I’m connected to 4G or even 5G but nothing will load. I was using my data fine earlier in the trip, also in Austria without issue but now it’s just not working. I’ve checked settings and I’m still well within my 30gb fair trade. Austria is a roam free destination - it’s been an issue for almost a week now.

So you’re seeing an R with the signal indicator?

And of these networks - A1 Telekom, 3 Austria, T-Mobile - have you tried to manually connect, even after a manual search picking the 2nd one down on the list as a test? Or maybe trying to manually connect to each one?

 

Have you checked your billing cap, just in case? Maybe even nudge it up to £5 just to see if this makes any difference.

 

Do you or have you noticed any ‘out of data’ messages - this has been happening on their other (but new) Roam Beyond data Add-on. Having said that have you checked to make sure your phones built in data limiter isn’t preventing this?

Thanks for those suggestions. No I’m not seeing R, it actually shows up as 3-4 bars and then 4G or 5G next to it in the top bar of my phone. I tried manually connecting but that didn’t seem to work.

 

I checked and my bill cap is already at £5. Haven’t gotten any texts except for the ‘Welcome to this roam free destination’ message. I reset my phones data tracking but also didn’t seem to solve it.

That’s odd then ​@Lookingforanswers2 being as it worked fine previously (and on the same trip/holiday)

To rule out 5G have you tried setting the phone to 4G only?

 

 

Have you double checked your account to make sure roaming is still toggled on?

And you’re sure roaming is still enabled on the phone?

Even look at toggling International on via the app/account too (this shouldn’t matter but some iD pages say to turn this on too)

(All of the above is found on the app/account → Plan → Manage your iD services. But make sure you click save which is hidden (on the phone) a little further down on that screen)

 

edit to add. When you first join a roaming partner we should get an automated Rate Advice text from iD. Only after this does the service then work.

Sorry to hear this, are you in a different area than you were earlier in your trip when it worked?

 

Have you tried manually connecting to other networks whist there?
