does it cost to receive a SMS Text when in Japan?

hello

My daughter is off to Japan shortly and wants to know if she’ll get charged for receiving SMS texts, specifically log in codes and so on, It’s not clear on the roaming section of the website whether Texts Received have a cost. It lists costs for Texts to UK and Texts to Japan but not for incoming texts received.

Sorry to ask a thick question.

A few weeks ago, someone asked this question, and an iD Mobile employee confirmed that there’s no charge for receiving SMS when roaming.

Hi Tyler,

I understand that my roaming isn’t included in Mauritius so I will turn that off and use the resorts WiFi. I won’t send texts or make calls, but want to know if I will be charged if I receive texts?

I want to know if I receive texts will I be charged?

And if I receive calls with a voicemail left will I be charged? I guess I will because I will have to call up to get the message?

You shouldn’t be charged for someone leaving a voicemail or receiving texts.

Roaming charges in Mauritius.

The table below displays how much you’ll be charged for any minutes, texts or data that you use.
