I have purchased 2 ID SIM cards for use in our iPads when we are away in Europe.

roaming is turned on in the ID app & on both the iPads but I cannot access the internet, I get a message ‘could not activate mobile data network’

everything works ok if I put my O2 sim in the iPad.

can anyone help?

thanks in advance

Hi @jan.ed  although iD SIM’s are not designed to be used in tablets, we can have a look into this for you. We will pop you a private message so we can get some details and check your accounts.

We look forward to your reply.

How will you message me? Neither of the ID mobile sims are working?

you could e-mail me as my user name is my e-mail address.

i told the gentleman that I bought the SIM card from in Curry’s that they were for iPads & he said there wasn’t a problem?

No, apparently you can’t use the SIM cards I iPads.

they are looking for a fix, but if I don’t get one today I will be cancelling.

if they sort it out I will let you know on here

Many thanks for the reply, I will do the same if no satisfactory response. It must be a roaming thing as it works ok in uk.

I have tried to post this as a separate post, My SIM card does not work in the EU on an IPad but it works fine in the UK. But when you switch it on in the EU it logs in for a few seconds and then says no service. Also the personal hotspot which works in UK does not work in the EU.

But it works fine in an IPhone.

there is obviously a problem with logging in to EU networks fo IPad.

Thanks @nato

iD Mobile does not support the usage of our SIM cards in iPads. As per our approved handsets list, iPads are not included, which means we cannot guarantee that services, including Personal Hotspot, will work while using an iPad.

Are you able to test the SIM in a handset at all?

Interesting you don’t show my iresponse in the chain of comments…..

So could you explain why it works fine in the UK on the same IPad with no problem. aAnd the man in Curry’s said it works fine abroad?

As advised @nato  iD don’t support the use of iPads with our SIM’s, so this isn’t something we could escalate I’m afraid.
