roaming charges applying?

I’m in France and I received this sms as soon as I arrived:

“Hi, please be aware that you've started using chargeable services while roaming. Any calls, texts, or data will not come out of your standard UK allowances and will cost between 30p and £15.00 per MB. To keep track of your spending or manage your bill cap, simply log in to the iD Mobile app. For more details on out of plan charges, visit idmobile.co.uk/roaming”

 

I have roaming switched on. Am I going to be charged, and if so why? The info in the link says my allowance can be used while roaming.

France is included in our roaming destinations. When you are connected, can you please confirm the network you are connected to in France?

Hello Nat ​@Natalie W,

I’ve just received the same message as ​@ChrisN12 whilst in Canada. However unlike Chris, I have NOT turned on my ‘data roaming’ and only received the introductory message from idmobile advising your charges whilst in Canada.

​Would you be able to advise the reason for this message and the consequential reason for being charged?

Good afternoon Natalie,

I can confirm I turned off the data roaming + international calls services before entering Canada.

I have now noticed £0.07 has been added to my bill, presumably as a result of receiving the text. Would you be able to advise the reason for this additional charge to my bill?

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you Natalie.

As this was a recent charge, I am unable to view the reason for the charge.

It would therefore be very helpful if you were able to advise the reason why from your end and get back to me privately.
