I used my plan out in cyprus last year and roaming was fine. However I was in spain last week and nothing workwd. The phone was connected to 5g movistar roaming network, ID mible app was tiggled over for roaming and my phone was also set to roaming. It still wouldnt work

Had to buy a local spanish sim card for while I wad there.  Phone shop said the ID sim was the issue not the handset...any ideas

Probably cause Movistar is not a iD roaming partner. You need to connect to either of the following roaming partners in Spain: Vodafone, Telefonica, Xfera or Orange.

Hey there @kevinturner101, we hope the kind advice from @MZone has been able to assist further.

As advised by @MZone, Movistar isn’t a network we use in Spain, and the list of networks used can be found by the link sent by himself. I believe we may have done so in the past, so apologies for any confusion there, but we don’t anymore either way.

Thanks,

Tyler

Sorry I should have started a new thread. Ignore below! ***

Hi all,

I have been looking to an answer to something very similar… I’m in Spain now. My phone connected automatically to Movistar and I got a text saying welcome to Spain and all mins / data etc… is included in Spain as a ‘roam free destination’. On arrival I switched automatic network detection off to see what other options there were, and there were no other choices. I’m not going to be happy if I’m being charged extra if Spain is a free roaming destination and I got that text and there are no other options! Any advice? Is Movistar now back on the list!?

Many thanks all!

Deej

Hey there @Deej-11, if Movistar works for you, then this is still a Spanish network, so you shouldn't be charged for connecting to this. If you were for any reason, please do let us know.

Thanks,

Tyler
