I travelled from Italy to Switzerland for the day my phone worked fine in Italy but as soon as I entered Switzerland nothing …. My phone showed that I had 5G and WiFi and I was connected to Swisscom and my limit was high …. But could not access any of my apps….Apple Maps, google maps my travel card,  even the IDmobile app.  I was told that 3/ID mobile jjust does not work in Switzerland is this true for future travel??

As Switzerland isn’t considered EU, it isn’t covered by EU roaming which means you will get extra charges. 

If your data doesn’t work, make sure your spend cap is high enough or off to cover data usage.

Finally, if that still doesn’t work, do a manual search of networks and try connect to all the networks and see which one works well with data. The networks available are: Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt.

Yes I understand it’s not in the EU my spend cap was high and it only showed Swisscom ….i checked everything but nothing would work

It’s possible that there is or was a network issue with Swisscom. iD Mobile wouldn’t be able to help if this is or was the case.

It happened on two separate days and friends with me were on Swisscom but not with IDMobile I will go into Curry’s when I’m that way and ask

I too had this same issue and all settings on phone and app were correct. Worked fine in France, in Switzerland maps continued to work but music stopped. As I was driving continued my route and on entering Italy everything worked again. 

I believe it could be an outage but I'll know when travelling back in 2 weeks if was outage, bad weather or ID.

Evening all, well, it wasn't bad weather as our return journey through simplon pass Switzerland was on a nice sunny day. Music and navigator worked well through Italy. On entering Switzerland received the usual text about roaming charges and then music stopped as no data streaming available. Navigator kept working as I had entered before leaving Italy to our destination in France. 

Believe it's to do with Switzerland not been part of EU.

Suggest ID partners with Swisscom like Vodafone!

Changing networks made no difference even if I and partner had means to pay.
