Hello

few questions about roaming in the US:

  • Is there any limit of time of staying in the US for the roaming to work?
  • Are you getting charged to receive text in the US?
  • If you deactivate Data Roaming in the iPhone mobile service setting, are you still able to receive call and text in the US?

Many thanks

Okay @G3000, SMS text messages are free to receive in the USA.

Calls and SMS text messages should work even with roaming mobile data turned OFF.

If your iPhone is dual-SIM with eSIM capability, a data-only eSIM with a travel plan for the USA might be an option to consider.

Sorry @G3000, can’t say with certainty you wouldn’t experience issues roaming with your iD SIM in the USA. I’d guess as an iPhone owner, issues roaming in the USA are less likely in general.

This community article may help.

I’d say, provided you continue to pay monthly for your iD plan, there shouldn’t be a time limit on using your iD SIM overseas, outside the iD roam-like-at-home destinations (EU), @G3000

Just a note to say, using your iD SIM in the USA for calls, texts, and data would be expensive.
