    SMS won't send, RCS will

I am trying to send SMS texts from my old Motorola running Android 11 to my wife (on an iPhone 13 I think). RCS sends perfectly fine, but if my data drops and I try to send SMS, it just doesn't send. Sending SMS to other contacts works absolutely fine. Any tips about what I might do?

I can't send or receive (SMS) texts from my SIM. What should I do?

If you can’t send or receive texts (SMS) on your phone, follow these steps to get back on track: What do I need to do? Tap ‘Software Update’. If you have an iOS update available, tap ‘Install Now’. If you see ‘Download and Install’ instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap ‘Install Now’. Having issues updating? Check out this Apple Support article for more information. If you see ‘iOS is up to date’ - you’re good to go! Enter your mobile number, using +44 instead of the firs

How to add a plan to my account without SMS

I’m trying to add my son’s plan to my account so I can request a new SIM (because he dropped his phone in the river and lost the phone and SIM) How can I add this plan without access to the phone to be able to receive the confirmation SMS message? Alternatively, is there a way of requesting a replacement SIM for a plan which was originally registered against my email address but has not been added to my account in the mobile app? Any suggestions welcome - this must have happened to other people Thanks

    sms switch confusion

Just switched from a different network and I brought my number with me. I've received text and email from ID to let me know the switch was successful. I restarted my phone as instructed and my phone calls are perfect. My sms texts are still saying they are coming from the number that came with the sim card I received. The thing is... I entered a comp via text before I was made aware of this!! What if they needed to let me know I'd won?? (You never know!!) They would have an incorrect number if they tried to phone it

Absolute onslaught of Spam SMS recently

In the last week I have been gradually getting more and more spam sms text message where I am added to a “group”. I’m up to 20+ per day now and it’s driving me mad! I can only seem to report them as spam and can’t find any setting in the Messages app (Google's one built into my Honor Magic 7 Pro) to stop me being added to groups without my permission. Does anyone have any idea how I can block these please? They’re always different numbers. Is anyone seeing a huge rise in them recently too? Cheers!

Non-Stop spam SMS (Fake "Salik" payment reminders)

I am completely inundated being spam (phishing) group text messages - multiple texts per hour and through the night. The majority are fake Salik payment reminders and appear to come from UK mobile numbers. There are also fake texts in Hungarian from Yettel appearing more recently. Screenshot below from a X user reporting the same issue to Vodafone. This all began last Thursday 15/05 and appears to coincide with the M&S data breach. I leave all the groups and report to spam but they continue to arrive thick and fast. Is there anything the network can do to assist please?

both my galaxys arent recieving sms messages (north east England)

Hi all, I've realised both of my Samsung galaxies aren't receiving sms messages off varying people, nothing has changed on both our phones (my son has my other) that we are aware of, and have a few signal bars. I've tried airplane off/on, restarting the phone, looked through settings and am still stuck so if anyone can help then that would be great. We can still receive calls from the people who have messaged us if that matters.

    SMS Texts Not Sending

Over the past couple days my phone has been unable to send texts. Instantly the failed to send issue pops up. However I am still able to receive texts, use and receive calls and my mobile data works. I haven’t changed any settings on my phone or ID account. My phone hasn’t been damaged either. iPhone 15 Plus

On my Id-Mobile plan, can I receive 2FA SMS texts while in the USA?

2FA = two factor authentication (pin number sent via text/SMS). I am aware that I CANNOT use my UK phone to roam in the USA, i.e. NO data, NO voice on my Id-Mobile plan. I am getting conflicting answers about *receiving* texts while in the USA. I used chat and after a 60 minute wait was told that “yes” I can receive SMS texts sent from the UK to my phone while I am in the USA. I am not 100% confident in this answer. I was recommended a link which said that “no” you cannot receive texts sent to your phone while in the USA. This is a problem, as many companies, including airlines, insist on 2FA and many do this by means of a text/SMS message. They seem ignorant to the fact that many people will be unable to receive texts in the USA (likely other countries too).

    SMS message failures

I’ve recently switched to ID Mobile and everything works fine except my text (SMS) messages. When I send a text message, I get a ‘message failed to send’ notification, even though the recipient does in fact receive the message. However, when they reply, I don’t receive their response! Ive reloaded the SIM card and also have good mobile coverage, so that’s not the problem. I use an iPhone SE which has always worked well. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem please?.
