Any reason for poor connection?

I switched from Vodafone and had a strong 4 bars.

Now I have switched to idmobile and seriously regret it. Websites online all said excellent signal when I put in my postcode, I guess I have been lied to. 

1 bar with -114 dBm. It isn’t my phone as my partner has the same strength on Three.

Why is it so poor? 

In Settings (Android) for SIM card status it says ‘Mobile network state - Disconnected’. What gives?

    Unfortunately ​@Anonymous987, reception can vary significantly between mobile networks at any given location in the UK, despite rosy predictions in the models used with online coverage checkers.

    It sounds like Vodafone has a better signals in the locations you mainly use your mobile phone.

    Hi ​@Anonymous987  we are merging with Vodafone, so I would expect your coverage to improve in the near future. 

    Do you have W-Fi calling enabled? Have you tried giving your phone a reboot?
