Question

Minimise charges when ending contract.

Hi, my contract comes to an end in a couple of months, and i am looking to end my contract. I want to minimise what i spend by transferring to a sim only with another supplier, but do not want to pay id moble more than i need. So my understanding is that i have to pay up to the end of the 24 months, and give 30 days notice. So 30 days before the end give my notice and then 30 days later use my pac code on the last day of the contract. Or have i missed something or some way of making this easier with more flexibility?

Hi @James Dunlop

Thank you for getting in touch.

You can request a PAC code at anytime and this comes with 30 days before it expires.

Once the number ports to the new provider, the account is automatically disconnected.

You have the option to arrange the port once the contract comes to an end as you should be able to pick the date the port takes place.

I hope that makes sense but please do let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Nat

Thank you for the reply, no this is more of a billing question. If i do the pac code before the end of the contract in the last 30 day, will i need to pay out the remaining days of my contract to id mobile?

Alternatively i leave it until after the end of my contract, i will have to pay alot for that months sim usage because it does not cover the cost of any phone but is still at a phone paying off level.

This assumes using the pac code does not require 30 days notice.

Is this all correct?

Hello @James Dunlop

Thank you for your reply.

If you port the number out prior to the contract end date, you will be charged for the remaining days on the contract.

If you port after your contract end date, you will only be charged for the days where the service is active.

Thanks,
