Question

Overcharged and poor signal

We have 6 months left on x2 ID mobile contracts and are wanting to end Early fee free. Can you please give advice on this?

The issues are as follows..

1. The three network has become highly congested in the last month or 2. Our ID, three and smarty contacts are all suffering the exact same issues of showing signal bars but unable to use data/calls in certain areas where it used to work fine before. Please note, this is 5 different phones, 2 three contacts, 2 id mobile contracts, 1 smarty contact ALL experiencing this issue. So it's not phone or setting related.

2. Both ID contracts my kids use are unable to get connection in their school and outside their school and also, lucky to get a connection if they are travelling to and from school. This is a safety concern for us as parents.

3. Our contracts have had an increase from April when we should not be getting an increase as we took the contacts out before January 2025.

So we would like to request to end early fee free due to the diminished service and overcharging. It is important our kids stay connected with us.

 Hi @Jaisunny,

  1. I suggest you keep a record of the postcodes you experience congestion in, along with the dates and times. This would help strengthen your case.
  2. Mobile signal isn’t guaranteed in any one location. All networks have areas with poor or non-existent signal.
  3. If your contracts included a handset, they are subject to annual price increases, with the exception of SIM-only plans.

Yes we know the areas we frequently visit so it's logged in our head.

I understand areas are worse than others. But when it used to be good, something has happened.

We just have sim only plans and they've increased the price.

Hello @Jaisunny

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are very sorry to hear of the issues you have been experiencing with the service.

Can you please confirm the postcode(s) where you are having problems?

Are the phones connecting via 4G or 5G when the issues occur?

What is the make/model of the handsets please?

Thanks,

Natalie

Mk178np ie.. Weathercock Lane and surrounding areas mostly.

Also video calls now cut off (didn't used to) on watercress way and warwick avenue in milton keynes (don't know the postcodes I guess there's a few postcodes on these 2 roads.)

Handsets tried are:

Poco x6 pro

Honor magic5 pro

Motorola moto g 5g

Oneplus nord 2 5g

We've had other phones too but can't remember the models with the exact same outcome.

Hi @Jaisunny

Our system hasn't reported any network issues at this postcode.

Are the phones connecting via 4G or 5G when the issues occur?

My Main Focus is mk178np as that's where my kids go to school and we cannot contact them, specially when school finishes, we cannot find them to pick them up, we cannot call them or message them. It shows 1 bar 4g but it does not work. But today, for example, it took 20 mins to figure out where one of our kids was and we had to drive around the area to find him! It's a real pain in a Congested village /small town.
