Why do upgrades cost more than a new plan

Best answer by Daz_S

Because you’ve already had your nibble of the carrot and iD want more to finish eating it!😜

Basically offering new customers a good offer gets iD their custom. Though with care you can sometimes get the same deal, some do via their direct sales line 0207 139 1397*, but sometimes is it worth the hassle?

*you’d likely get a deal closer to new customers if you only had 1 week left of your minimum term and told them you’re thinking of leaving. Also just so you know that number is only during normal office hours.

Hello @Gazhig

Thanks for getting in touch.

I understand it can be frustrating to see discounts for new customers. These offers are meant to make joining us easy, and I like to think you got a good deal when you first signed up. Our offers change regularly, so if you’re ever curious about current options or upgrades, please contact the Sales Team on 0207 1391 397 between 9am -6pm.

Thanks

Nat

And we don’t get a good deal being an existing customer ………. is what some might now be thinking.

When I first came to iDM I saw an offer adding 50% more data than what was being advertised for existing customers at no extra cost, no-brainer I took it.

so if you’re ever curious about current options or upgrades

I kept checking on the offers via the iD app and waited the 6 months, then waited a bit more.

Then during the Black Friday deals I could:

  • have reduced my monthly cost by £1 and added another 33.33% to my existing data allowance.
  • keep the same price (assumed it was an error at the time but tried anyway) and added 167% to my existing data allowance (yes 1 6 7 percent more)
  • have increased my monthly cost by £1 and lost 33.33% of my data allowance

Obviously took the middle offer.

Showing my age now but as Shaw Taylor used to say ……👀…...
