What is a UK Add-On?

Add-ons are the best way to top up your data or minutes if you are running low. They are much cheaper than paying out-of-plan charges and are available whenever you need them.

 

How do UK Add-ons work?

 

If you use up all your monthly data or minutes, you would normally start paying standard out-of-plan rates, which can get expensive quickly.

Buying an Add-on prevents this. For example, buying a 1GB data Add-on is significantly cheaper than paying for 1GB of data at the standard rate per megabyte.

 

Key things to know:

  • When they kick in: A data Add-on only starts being used after your main monthly allowance (and any rolled-over data) is completely gone.
  • Where they work: Your UK Add-ons work in the UK and in our 50 Inclusive Roaming destinations.
  • Expiry: 7-day Add-ons expire exactly 7 days after you buy them, not 7 days after you start using them.

Please note: Add-ons cannot be backdated. They only cover usage after you buy them, so they won't erase charges you have already incurred.

 

Recurring Add-ons.

 

We no longer sell new recurring Add-ons. However, if you bought one before they were discontinued, it will continue to refresh every month until you choose to cancel it.

FAQs.

 

When does my Add-on start?

Your Add-on is ready to use immediately after purchase, but it will only actually be used once your standard monthly allowance runs out.

 


 

How long does my Add-on last?

We offer Add-ons that last for 7 days, 1 month, or 12 months. You can check the expiry date of your active Add-ons on the dashboard of the iD Mobile app.

 


 

Can I cancel an Add-on?

No, standard one-off Add-ons cannot be cancelled or refunded once bought. They will simply expire at the end of their duration.

 


 

Will my Bill Cap affect my Add-on?

No. The cost of buying an Add-on is separate from your Bill Cap. Even if you have hit your Bill Cap limit for the month, you can still purchase an Add-on to get more data.

 


 

Do Add-ons carry over if I change my plan?

Yes. If you upgrade or change your plan, any active Add-ons will stay on your account until they expire.
