Google Pixel 7a faulty battery

I have a Google pixel 7a on contract which is about 18 months old. The battery has started intermittently draining to zero in seconds and a bulge has appeared in the back of the phone. Looking online this is a known issue with the battery, and would normally be covered under warranty. Do I need to go to Google for this or does it sit with Currys/I'd? Thanks.

Hey there ​@Glynpr78, if your contract is in warranty with us, then you’d be able to take it to a Currys store to have it looked into, and possible free repair if they can repair it.

 

If it’s not in warranty, you’d need to contact the manufacturer.

    The warranty would lie with the manufacturer Google so I suggest you contact them.

    This is what I found when I ‘Googled’ your problem……


    The answer to this is quite simple – if you bought the item from a shop then your contract is with them. You do not have a contract with the manufacturer. The shop has the legal liability to fix the item.

    When an item is sold it is the SELLERS responsibility to ensure that it ‘fit for purpose’.
