Can I transfer ownership of a phone contract?

I am currently on a pay monthly phone contract which is ending in less than 3 months and I am planning to switch to a SIM only plan when it ends. My contract is in a family member’s name at the moment is there a way to transfer it to my name?

    I am afraid we do not offer an option to transfer accounts to other parties. 

    This is due to an account requiring credit/security checks prior to the contract activating.
