Can't put new phone number into iPad (with phone & data plan)

Have downloaded ID app but can’t get one-time passcode to set up my account as I can only get messages from my existing iPhone number and not my new iPad number. Have tried to add it in via  Settings, Sign-in & Security, but same problem re non-receipt of one-time passcode. Any ideas?

Pop into a Curry’s store with ID and get a replacement physical SIM. Once activated put that in a phone handset and then you should be able to get the OTP. You can then put the physical SIM into your iPad or request a replacement eSIM to put on your iPad. Bit of a faff but that’s the only way unfortunately.

You will need to put the iPad SIM card into a phone handset to get the OTP as when the SIM is in the iPad it is just used for data only and not voice/sms services.

Unfortunately it’s an e-sim. Any further thoughts!

Hi @SteppieC

In this case, it may be worth trying what @MZone suggests above.

Please note that iD Mobile don’t officially support usage of SIMs in iPads, some features may not be available.
